Getting Your First Hearing Aid?
So you have completed your hearing test and you need to look at getting your first hearing aid. What happens now?
How are hearing aids priced?
Cost should not determine your quality of life.
At Hearing Works, our Audiologists understand what hearing loss feels like and will use their expertise to find a solution that best meets your lifestyle and budget.
Like most audio equipment, the price of your hearing aid is determined by the type and number of features they have. The more features the hearing devices have, the better they will enable you to communicate in different listening environments. Although the severity of your hearing loss is a factor in the style of device that is chosen for you, the price of hearing aids is not affected by what they look like. At Hearing Works, there is no extra charge for different fitting styles.
one + one should = two, right?
Hearing aids travel
Since most of us are blessed with two ears, one would think that you would automatically be getting 2 hearing devices, but unfortunately this is not always the case. Sometimes after you have completed your hearing test, and invested the time and commitment to choosing your hearing aid solution, you find out that your Audiologist has only quoted you for one hearing aid? But your hearing loss has occurred in both ears!
Unfortunately, it happens, and this is one of the reasons why Hearing Works is dedicated to helping you hear the world without interruption.
One hearing test, one diagnosis, two hearing aids. LOVE this!
Most (but not all) hearing loss naturally occurs in both ears, so helping both ears (to us) seems like a natural solution to our service offering. We will offer you two hearing aids, programmed to work together.
Same day test, same day fit
Hear your world better from day one.
In most cases, our Audiologists can fit you with you with your hearing aids for evaluation on the same day as your test. Like your prescription eyewear, your hearing aid is programmed to suit your hearing loss and your auditory needs. During your fitting, the Audiologist will verify that they are working optimally for you, and make sure you know how to use them before you leave the store.
The Audiologist will also organise a follow-up appointment after one week to check that everything is well and fine-tune the programming if necessary
Like with any sound investment, we choose quality

Test drive your hearing aids before you invest
Free Hearing Aid Evaluation.
As part of the comprehensive hearing test from Hearing Works, your Audiologist may also provide you with a free hearing aid evaluation on any of the latest digital hearing aids.
Your Audiologist will recreate different environments using complex computer simulations and live speech mapping. This is a great way to learn how your hearing aids perform under different circumstances.
We also recommend that you are accompanied by someone you know during the hearing assessment, as it helps to have a familiar voice to listen to during the hearing aid evaluation.
With digital hearing aid technology changing so fast and with so many options available, its best to listen to it yourself. Together with the Audiologist’s professional assistance, you can decide what best suits you.
